"I’ve got that glitter on my eyes // stockings ripped all up the side..."

[x] I want a tiger. Okay, not really. But I've been watching a lot of Fatal Attractions on Animal Planet and I am completely obsessed with that show. I find it absolutely fascinating...that need/drive/desire to domestic a completely wild and exotic animal. I wouldn't be opposed to caring for a tiger if I never had to, say, enter his/her cage, but that's about it. I recently had a debate with someone about how "not vegan" it would be to feed a tiger some sort of once-living-and-breathing meal. Um, what? Should they just eat tofu and garden salads? They're naturally-born predators, people. Wild, other-living-and-breathing-animal-eating predators...if they can't hunt (in captivity), they should at least be allowed proper, "normal" food. I don't feed my domesticated house cats a vegan diet since I don't believe it is best for them--or natural, really. (Just my $0.02.) So why would I support "veganizing" a tiger? *facepalm*

[x] K.'s back on shift and I'm gearing up for a quiet night with my babies. I have a coffee close at hand, an order for a new iPhone4 (yay!) since my 'ol trusty bit the dust, and three freshly bathed babies to keep me company. I also have a dishwasher full of dishes that need washing and a load of laundry in the washing machine dryer, but meh...who's counting?! We did a little shopping today so I can bake again tomorrow if I'd like. I'm low on Earth Balance sticks, but I can make do if I get creative. So I'm fairly certain some sort of baking will be on tomorrow's agenda. I also need to trim Beauty's nails. The other two are fine, but man...her nails grow ten times as fast as the rest of ours do. I don't get it! But I sure am jealous.

[x] An incredibly courageous little boy who was diagnosed with a brain tumor just sixteen months ago lost his battle today. Please keep him--and his family and friends--in your thoughts and prayers. I didn't know him personally; I've never met anyone in his family, but I've followed his mom's blog for some time and my heart is absolutely broken for them. I can't even begin to fathom the depth of this loss and I hope to god I never have to. Love your babies extra hard tonight, friends. Love all your loved ones extra hard. This life we've been given is so beautiful and so precious. Gratitude is definitely at the forefront of my mind today.

[x] Waiting to hear back from our new old DT-V and hoping to secure a Monday slot with her. Fingers crossed! We need a PT eval (again--for the one year mark) so hopefully we can get that and keep services 1x a month. OT is up in the air until we get settled with a DT-V. Little Flower is just doing so well on her own that weekly OT isn't even really necessary at this point. Get it, LF, get it! So proud of my muffin!

[x] Beauty has been sneezing up a storm. Fingers crossed that she isn't getting sick. :/ She's done SO well since school started. I hope she's able to avoid it as such now. Bear and I have been hit HARD several times since September, most recently with bronchitis/pneumonia respectively. Hopefully the light is at the end of the tunnel since spring is just around the corner. We shall see.

[x] Not having a cell phone SUCKS. For one, I have a ton of pics on my iPhone. Secondly, I always take LF's POTD with my iPhone. I'm charging my digital camera as we speak. I'm going to be dependent on it a lot more until my iPhone 4 shows up. (But I'm still not-so-secretly excited for the iPhone 4! I'm *such* an Apple geek. :)

[x] I will happily give someone ten hundred dollars or a kitten or a batch of vegan cinnamon rolls or what have you if you get this song out of my brain. Embedded, I tell you. Embedded. Must.try.to.escape. Cannot.go.on.this.way.

[x] Allllllright, enough is enough. LF is just about finished with dinner so it's time to sneak in some baby cuddles. Beauty and Bear are playing "Simon Says" and knock on wood, all is going well, no one has been injured, etc. A quiet Saturday night, and one for which I am especially grateful. Three healthy, happy babies--I'm the richest, luckiest woman in the world. <3

I think it's crazy for people to feed animals a vegan diet, too. Humans have so much research on our side, we have stores filled with healthy vegan options, we have science and research. Nobody's studying the effect of a vegan diet on a tiger. It just isn't fair to assume that we know enough about it to impose it on animals. Until there are cat health food stores full of vegan cat food options, my cats just get regular cat food.
