"Look, here she comes now // bow down and stare in wonder // oh, how we love you // no flaws when you're pretending..."
[x] First and foremost, it is, in fact, pneumonia that I have. Again.
Pneumonia again. I'm still rocking out the heavy duty anti-b's and
feeling...so-so. Halfway finished with the script and still enduring a
killer cough so hopefully it's really just getting ready to move on out
of here any minute now. Hmph. So it goes.
[x] The snow is melting, and I'm fairly ambivalent about it all. I should be grateful, though; I should note that I bit it--HARD as hell--yesterday after a little shopping last night. Ouch! I wasn't seriously injured, but it was a head-bouncing-off-cement-tearing-up-my-left-knee-and-both-my-palms
sort of deal. Here's the weirdest thing: I must've done something to a
nerve somewhere in my fall as the bottoms of both my feet are a bit
numb. Who knew? Hopefully that will work itself out soonishly. It's a
pretty obnoxious feeling.
[x] I've been fighting an incredible urge to get tattooed lately. I really want to wait until the fall, though--I don't want to "finish" my flowers on my back until we're sure that three (kids) is the lucky number. And I want to start a half sleeve (left arm) but want to pull together some more funds before I even start the project. So fall of 2011 it is. Thankfully, the artist I adore is very, very local. And very, very awesome, too. :) At least I found my favorite pin-up red lipstick. With my now (again) jet black hair, red lipstick is a daily must. Love it. I do need to cut my bangs again. Maybe tonight, even.
[x] I found a pack of clove cigarettes in my freezer. Do any of you have any idea how much I would love to enjoy one as I type these very words? As soon as my lungs are better, I'm on it. Even with as much as I love my sweet cloves (and I do), I know I've gotta keep these things sacred until this pneumonia decides to GTFO. Yep.
[x] Tomorrow is Valentine's Day--my favorite holiday. I am highly unapologetic about it. Highly unapologetic. Truly. I love it so much. I don't give a rat's ass that it's a "hallmark holiday" or what have you. I just love the idea, the excitement of my kids, the bright spot in a desolate winter landscape. Love it. We already celebrated it (for the most part), and today K. brought home a dozen, long-stemmed red roses (my favorite ever flower). So sweet! The kids and I made him a cake when he was on shift this past Friday--lots of sprinkles (per Bear's request). We also made homemade vegan cinnamon rolls today and they were a.maz.ing. No, really. Fantastically amazing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Isa Chandra Moskowitz is the cookbook queen. She's never let me down. The only change I plan on making is to double the icing next time, just based on my family's preference. But it's definitely a keeper recipe! So very good.
[x] Little Flower went for a well baby visit last week and is a whopping nineteen pounds now. Grow, LF, grow! She needs to work on self-feeding but is otherwise healthy as a horse and completely on target given her visual impairment. She's such a sweetheart. Like I haven't said that before though, right? I can't believe she's been a part of my world for over a year already--it seems so much shorter and so much longer all at once. I just love her to pieces, I do.
[x] Beauty's birthday is just over a month away. She'll be four and I can't believe it--four?! How is this possible? I think she's leaning toward a Barbie birthday and I am so excited to add to her blossoming Barbie collection. She's suddenly really into them, and it brings back such sweet memories of my own Barbie love. Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, I guess. :)
[x] Bear said something tonight that made me SO proud. He and Beauty were talking and just as I started listening to the conversation (I was making dinner), I heard him say: "Some little kids have a mommy and a daddy and some have two mommies or two daddies or just a mommy or just a daddy. There's lots of different kinds of love in this world. And it's all really, really good." I just love that kid to pieces. He's only four, but I think he could stand to impart some wisdom on more than a few adults.
[x] Tonight, we're all going to hit the proverbial hay a bit earlier. All of us were up way too late last night, and the kids are already losing steam. I'm right with them. It will serve us all rather well to catch a few extra zzz's. Happy Early Valentine's Day to all of you! <3

Oh my gosh, pneumonia again? How awful. I hope you're all healed up soon, mommy. And I can't believe our girls will be 4 already!!
